Hi! I’m Miki, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (NC, SC, NH, FL), who enjoys working with neurodivergent individuals. I use a person-centered approach, allowing the client to guide the sessions in an effort to promote autonomy and strengthen the therapeutic relationship.
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?
I grew up with a brother on the spectrum and have relatively recently realized that I am autistic as well. Growing up with my brother and seeing how others treated him gave me empathy.
How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?
I bring a strengths-based approach to therapy by helping people to think differently about their “quirks.” I want people to embrace who they are instead of masking.
