Overview
What is Prosper Health?
Prosper Health is the first telehealth provider focused exclusively on autistic and neurodivergent adults. We are affirming and strength-based, and adapt our care specifically for autistic adults! All of our services are provided virtually via telehealth, and we accept most major insurances! Whether you are seeking a diagnosis for the first time or are looking for ongoing therapy, we would love to support you and help you achieve your goals.
What types of conditions do you support?
Our support is individualized based on your needs, but we commonly help people with the overlap of autism, neurodivergence, and any of the following: anxiety and depression, trauma/PTSD, processing and understanding a late diagnosis, autistic burnout, executive functioning challenges, social or relationship difficulties, life transitions and/or entering adulthood, sensory management, emotional regulation, and more.
What’s the difference between an assessment and therapy?
If you don’t have a diagnosis yet and would like to go through our assessment process, we offer assessments with licensed psychologists in your state who specialize in diagnosing autistic adults. Each psychologist is specifically trained to recognize autism in subtle and difficult-to-identify cases.
If you are autistic, identify with autistic traits, or want to work with someone who specializes in neurodivergence, we offer ongoing support through therapy with therapists specialized in working with autistic adults. At Prosper, we take an adapted approach to therapy that is modified specifically to meet the unique needs of autistic adults. Our therapists can work with you to meet your goals. A prior diagnosis is not needed to begin therapy.
Can you tell me more about therapy with Prosper?
We offer ongoing support through therapy with therapists specialized in working with autistic and neurodivergent adults. At Prosper, we take an adapted approach to therapy that is modified specifically to meet the unique needs of autistic adults. Our therapists can work with you to meet your goals. A prior diagnosis is not needed to begin therapy.
We’ll aim to match you with a therapist that meets your preferences (e.g., identity, gender, etc.). During your first session or two, the therapist will want to learn more about your background and goals. In subsequent sessions, you and your therapist can work together to figure out a treatment approach that works best for you.

Insurance and Billing
How much does it cost?
We are covered by many of the leading insurance carriers. When you submit your information, we’ll work to verify it within 1 business day and then send you an email and text with a cost estimate.
Are you in-network with my insurance?
Currently (as of November 2024), we accept Aetna, United, Cigna, Oscar, Oxford in Texas, Florida, New York, Illinois, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Virginia, Colorado and Tennessee. We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield in Texas, North Carolina, New York, Illinois, Massachusetts, Virginia, Tennessee, and Florida. We are constantly looking to add insurances to make sure people are covered.
If you are not covered by these insurances, self-pay is available. Therapy is $125 per session and assessments are $950 for the entire process.
Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?
Unfortunately, at this time, we are not able to accept Medicare or Medicaid. Making our services as accessible as possible is very important to our team, and we are working on being able to accept both Medicare and Medicaid in the future.
Do you accept secondary insurance?
At this time, we do not accept secondary insurance. However, you may request a superbill after the completion of services, which you can submit to your secondary insurance for potential reimbursement of any out-of-pocket expenses you may incur.
Do you offer self-pay or payment plan options?
If you are not in-network with insurance, we offer affordable self-pay options. Therapy is $125 per session and assessments are $950 for the entire process. We offer payment plans for assessments. If you are interested, please contact help@prosperhealth.io for more information.
Assessments
What are the limitations of Prosper assessments?
The Prosper Health assessment is NOT a full neuropsych. It is an ASD-only assessment and is completed entirely virtually. Given this, Prosper may not be a good fit if:
- the case is highly complex with multiple differential diagnoses needed
- there are immediate mental health needs for higher level of care
- the client is non-speaking or unable to report their internal states and personal history
- the client is unable or unwilling to be on camera
- the client are seeking accommodations that specifically require a physician or full-neuropsych
What is the assessment process?
You begin the assessment process by filling out our contact form. Once you complete this and we verify your insurance, we will send intake forms to complete and rating forms to you and your contacts. Once all forms are completed, we will schedule you for two 90 minute clinical interviews with one of our psychologists. After these two sessions, your psychologist will schedule you for a 30 minute feedback session to discuss the results of your assessment. A report that is signed by your psychologist will be shared (typically within 14 days, but can take longer).
How can I schedule an assessment?
Before scheduling, there are a number of forms that we need you and a few close contacts to complete. We will guide you through this process with a number of email and text reminders. Once you complete your forms, a member of our team will reach out to help you get scheduled.
Do I need to include other people in the process?
We do ask that you include close contacts in the process. We ask contacts to complete virtual forms that should take no longer than 10-15 minutes. We require one person who currently knows you well, as well as a person who knew you during early development (between the ages of 3-5 years old). You are welcome to use the same person for both if relevant. We understand it can be difficult for many people who may not have a childhood contact. Please see our answer related to this if you have further questions.
Why do I need to include other people in the assessment process?
Best practice evaluations require multiple data points, including perspectives from other raters (beyond the client themselves). We value and prioritize what adults tell us about themselves, and a client’s self-report is considered the most useful information we collect. However, ratings about early history and perspectives from others who know the person are necessary for our psychologists to round out their understanding and come to a decision.
What if I do not have a contact that knew me between the ages of 3-5 years old?
If you have a potential contact, we highly suggest including someone who knew you as a child. We do understand that this is not possible for many people, and we can accommodate the assessment without someone from childhood. Many of our clients choose to move forward without a childhood contact. It is important to note that if there are questions about early childhood, not having a contact does raise the chance that the assessment process could be inconclusive.
Therapy
What is the intake process for therapy?
We are covered by many of the leading insurance carriers. When you submit your information, we’ll work to verify it within 1 business day and then send you an email or text with an estimate of your cost-sharing.
How often do therapy appointments take place?
Most clients do weekly sessions (~50 minutes to 1 hour). However, it is up to you to decide what works best for you (feel free to talk about this with your therapist)!
How do you match me with a therapist?
Our admin team matches you with a therapist based on your state, availability, and the requests that you make. If you have specific requests, please let us know!
Do you offer initial consultations?
We do not offer phone consultations. However, if you want to try an initial appointment, and you do not like it, just let us know and we will waive the fee!
What should I expect from my first therapy session?
In your first session, you and your therapist will get to know each other and review the information from your intake form. Together, you will discuss your goals and past experiences with therapy. By the end of the session, your therapist will share a personalized care plan with you and you will schedule your next appointment.
Do you offer couples, marriage, or family therapy?
Currently, we only offer individualized therapy. However, we do work with many clients who are seeking help with relationships and family. In these situations, we can involve other people in sessions, but we will still have an individual client.
What happens if I do not like my therapist or want to switch?
That is ok! One of the most important parts of the therapy journey is your relationship with your therapist. If you ever do want to switch therapists for whatever reason, just let us know by emailing help@prosperhealth.io and we will make it happen!
