Intro
Hi! My name is Dr. Tegan (rhymes with "vegan"), and I am a licensed clinical psychologist from Virginia. I am licensed in both Virginia and Massachusetts, as I did my graduate degree in Boston. Additionally, I hold a valid PsyPact license, enabling me to offer Telehealth services to clients across more than 40 states. I am passionate about assessment, and I have had experience providing assessment and therapy services in a variety of settings (private practice, schools, community mental health centers, virtual psychoeducational assessments). This experience has helped me think about each client in terms of their unique set of circumstances. Much of my assessment experience has focused on helping clients explore a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, in addition to other potential diagnoses. I am excited to work with you and to learn about all the things that make you uniquely you.
The world would be so boring if everyone thought and acted the same way. This is what I appreciate about neurodivergent individuals, that they bring a unique perspective and see things that others might miss. In addition to having several neurodivergent family members, I have enjoyed helping neurodivergent assessment and therapy clients gain clarity around diagnoses and generally helping them feel more confident in their identity.
I have always been a believer in a strengths-based approach. Who is motivated by focusing on all the things they've done wrong or aren't good at? Focusing on strengths is more empowering and energizing. I think identifying strengths is a very important part of the assessment process, especially in understanding who you are as a whole person. Knowing your strengths can be helpful in advocating for yourself, building new skills, and achieving your goals.
