Hello and welcome! I'm Dr. C, a licensed Clinical Psychologist based in Washington, DC, and currently licensed to provide care in several states due to PsyPACT. I am passionate about working with Queer People of Color (QBIPOC), and the vast majority of my clinical work centers around this community. As a queer-identified individual myself, I recognize the importance of feeling safe and the need to navigate spaces authentically. As such, I work to create a collaborative environment where your whole, true self can shine bright, feeling held emotionally as we navigate your journey.
Throughout my work with QPOC, I continue to see individuals experiencing neurodivergence that has not been diagnosed. As such, people have internalized that there is something "wrong" with them, and this has created a negative view of self, low self-esteem, and a very unkind inner critic. I believe that having a name for lived experiences creates a significant relief for individuals, allowing them to put language to what they've been experiencing. This language, often in the form of a diagnosis, has been extremely empowering and communicates to people that there is absolutely nothing "wrong" with them. Instead, their brain simply processes information differently. We'll work together to affirm the neurodivergence you experience.
My approach is first and foremost about prioritizing affirming care. For me, this means that all of your identities hold value and weight in this space. As such, we will work together to affirm who you are and identity the agency, power, and strength that you possess.
