Intro
Hi there! I am Dr. Bridget Williams, and I am a licensed psychologist in multiple states including Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia and through PSYPACT which allows me to provide services via Telehealth in 42+ states. I have been a clinician for 14 years and initially began working with children and adolescents. While I have been trained as a generalist practitioner, I am drawn to working with survivors of trauma and have sought opportunities to enhance my trauma training. I am dedicated to social justice, inclusivity, community, and the acknowledgement and conscientious use of power and privilege in the therapeutic relationship.
Watching adults gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their childhoods from the lens of autism/neurodivergence has empowered them and released so much shame and guilt they have carried for years. My clinical approach is informed by Adlerian and Constructivist Theories, which understand an individual’s experience of the world based on her subjective and personal perception of reality.
I believe in using the therapeutic relationship to focus on the individual’s strengths and assets to empower clients with the tools to live emotionally healthy and safe lifestyles. This approach influences my interactions with colleagues, community agencies, and consultation and supervision relationships. I strive to facilitate a trusting atmosphere through which to empower, inspire, and challenge. I bring a compassionate and curious approach to my work, and I have learned to consult and collaborate within and across disciplines to effectively meet clients’ needs.
