Hi there and welcome! My name is Dr. Christina Wallace and I'm a Counseling Psychologist licensed in Pennsylvania. I have worn many hats as a psychologist, but regardless of what I am doing I have a deep rooted belief in empowering clients through collaboration. I use an integrative approach that allows clients to be an equal partner in the process. My clinical experience ranges from individual and group therapy as well as psychological assessments with a range of ages, diversity and backgrounds.
My spark for working with neurodivergent/autistic adults started while I was doing my internship at Case Western Reserve University. I co-led a campus group that included autistic college students. This amazing group of students has forever changed my outlook on working with neurodivergent clients. It was exciting to collaborate with the students and help meet their needs as emerging adults rather than impose our beliefs about what they needed to be successful. I believe knowledge equals power and with accurate diagnosis comes more resources, empowerment and support.
I bring affirming care into my work by utilizing a strength-based approach. At times giving someone a diagnosis can feel like a negative or stigmatizing event. By focusing on their areas of strength, I can empower the individual to see other aspects of themselves that are positive while still holding their experiences as valid in the moment and meeting them where they are at that time.
