Hi! I am Dieudonnee, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Florida, Massachusetts, and California). I am dedicated to supporting individuals with autism as they navigate life's challenges and work towards improving their overall quality of life. I am especially passionate about working with individuals of diverse backgrounds who struggle with life transitions, anxiety, depression, communication issues, burnout, and chronic illness. With experience in the behavioral health field since 2006, I am committed to creating a warm, culturally sensitive, compassionate, and non-judgmental therapeutic environment. I use evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy, while utilizing an eclectic therapeutic style to ensure the approach best fits the client’s needs.
My dedication to working with adults with autism is fueled by having seen so many individuals with autism struggle through life because they were either misdiagnosed or diagnosed very late; and upon diagnosis, often had very little access to resources. Witnessing the challenges faced by these individuals firsthand, both in my personal and my professional life, has been incredibly frustrating. Although more awareness is being created, resources for adults with autism are still very scarce; being part of the Prosper health team allows me to be a small part of the solution by supporting this under-severed population.
As a therapist I believe in the importance of understanding each client's unique story through their challenges, but especially through their strengths. In my almost 20 years of experience in the behavioral health field, I have learned that a strengths-based approach is always the best approach; as such I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is warm, welcoming, affirming, authentic, and non-judgmental. It is my goal for each session that the client feels seen, valued and empowered, but most of all comfortable enough to be their authentic self, without feeling the need to mask.
