Hey y'all, and welcome to Prosper Health, where we celebrate you! I’m grateful at the opportunity to cross paths with you. From the heart of the Lone Star State, my name is Dr. Kinnari Birla, a licensed clinical psychologist with active licenses to practice in Texas and Florida. Additionally, I hold PSYPACT credentials, allowing me to provide telehealth services across 42+ states.Inspired by Dr. Maya Angelou’s words, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you,” I believe that every story deserves to be told, and every heart deserves to heal. My commitment is to ensure you feel heard, seen, empowered, and validated. Together, we will build a strong therapeutic alliance through active listening, reflective responses, and meaningful insights. My approach is collaborative, focusing on understanding your strengths and challenges as we process past experiences while navigating present and future concerns with clarity and confidence. Since this ‘ain’t my first rodeo,’ allow me to walk alongside with you to affirm your uniqueness.
My motivation for working with autistic adults comes from both personal and professional experiences. I’ve seen firsthand how the world often misunderstands and overlooks the unique strengths, challenges, and needs of neurodivergent individuals. Many of my clients have spent years masking their true selves, navigating a world that wasn’t designed with their experiences in mind. I want to create a space where neurodivergent adults feel safe to unmask, build self-acceptance, and develop strategies that align with their authentic selves—rather than forcing themselves to fit into neurotypical expectations. It’s deeply fulfilling to highlight their inherent strengths, challenge internalized self-doubt, and cultivate lives that reflect their values and needs. I’m committed to empowering neurodivergent adults with the tools, validation, and self-understanding they deserve, so they can move through the world with greater confidence and ease.
I take a strengths-based, affirming approach by helping my clients recognize and embrace their unique way of experiencing the world. So often, neurodivergent individuals have been told that their differences are "challenges" to overcome, when in reality, those differences hold incredible strengths. My work focuses on shifting that narrative—helping clients see the value in their perspective, their deep focus, their creativity, their consistency, and their ability to think outside the box. Rather than pathologizing traits like sensory sensitivity, need for structure, or intense interests, I help clients reframe them as assets. At the same time, I acknowledge the real struggles that come with living in a world that isn’t always accommodating. I support clients in navigating masking, burnout, and self-advocacy while prioritizing their well-being. My goal is to help them create lives that feel sustainable, authentic, and affirming—where they don’t have to exhaust themselves trying to fit into a mold. Above all, I want my clients to feel truly seen and understood. I want them to walk away from our work not feeling like they need to “fix” themselves, but rather empowered to live in a way that honors who they are.
