Intro
I believes it’s never too late to hope. Life can throw a lot of curve balls at us, and we all walk through dark times. But the power of the mind is amazing. There is never a situation that is too dark, too late, or too hard that extra support, proven techniques, and positive thoughts can change around. We are not stuck in the dark situations life can put us in. I knows the power of community. Having someone walk beside you as you fight for your health and happiness is incredibly power. It is why I strives to always be kinder than necessary, because everyone I meet is fighting a battle that I can only guess the depths of. Counseling is a relationship to me. You are courageous and strong for fighting in the way you do, and I wants to amplify on the innate traits you already have. I will walk alongside you as a partner, encourager, and coach. It is her personal goal to see people succeed and accomplish their goal all while feeling good about themselves and where they’re heading in life. I am also a single mother and grandmother. I understand the importance of family and of persevering through difficult situations.
I have training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a psychotherapy that works on strengthening healthy skill such as emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness. I also have experience and training in trauma informed care and solution focused brief therapy. I have a wide work experience that I learned from and routinely draws upon in my sessions. I have worked in school settings as interventionists and classroom teachers as well as in fire departments and hospitals doing crisis work and assessments. I believes everyone deserves the chance to work with a counselor and has gotten the opportunity to work with offenders, people who struggle with substance abuse, dual diagnoses, and children and family with mental illness.
My experience as a single parent helps influence the work I do in many ways. When working with autistic adults, it is important to help clients feel confident they are being heard.
