Intro

Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Rebecca, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (LSATP) based in the heart of the Appalachian region in Virginia. Supporting individuals on their journey to healing, resilience, and self-discovery is my greatest passion. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative and empowering process, tailored to meet your unique needs and experiences. My approach is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and respect. I aim to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and valued—whether you’re navigating the complexities of trauma, seeking deeper emotional connection, or striving for personal growth. Together, we will work toward uncovering your strengths and cultivating the tools you need to thrive.Thank you for taking this courageous first step! I look forward to walking alongside you as we embark on this meaningful journey together.

What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My passion for working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals comes from both personal experience and a profound respect for the beauty of neurodiversity. As someone on the autism spectrum myself, and as a parent to a neurodivergent child, I understand firsthand the unique challenges and incredible strengths that come with neurodivergence.  This journey has deepened my empathy and fueled my commitment to creating a therapeutic space where every individual feels seen, valued, and supported. I am inspired by the resilience, creativity, and perspectives of the neurodivergent community and aim to help clients navigate challenges while celebrating their authentic selves. My goal is to empower you to build meaningful connections, develop skills, and find balance in a world that often struggles to fully understand and embrace difference. Together, we’ll work toward a life where you feel confident, supported, and truly able to thrive.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I take a strengths-based and affirming approach to therapy, grounded in the belief that every individual has inherent value and unique abilities that can be nurtured to create meaningful change. Rather than focusing solely on challenges, I aim to help clients uncover and build upon the resilience, creativity, and strengths that already exist within them.  As a neurodivergent therapist, I bring a deep understanding and shared perspective to my work, fostering a space where clients can feel authentically seen and supported. I prioritize active listening and compassionate collaboration, ensuring that every individual’s voice is valued and their experiences are validated. Together, we will celebrate your strengths, explore your goals, and work toward a life that feels aligned with your values and potential.
