Intro
Hello! My name is Dr. Tina Borke. I am a clinical psychologist with a specialty in neuropsychology. I have spent many years assisting people with neurodegenerative disorders to find a better pathway in life through assessments, counseling and rehabilitation since 2009. My person-centered approach is individualized to each client consisting of unconditional positive regard, empathy and assisting clients to discover their full potential. I believe in providing a non-judgmental, supportive environment that allows the client to be their true selves and embark on the road to success and growth. A cornerstone of my work with clients has been to assist clients with recognizing and striving for feelings of being worthy, accepting who they are, overcoming trauma and abuse and discovery of themselves. Together we work on creating and cultivating strong supportive relationships, ways to obtain respect and understanding and take steps to fulfillment of life goals. I consider it a privilege to assist clients on their journeys toward a better future.
I am highly motivated to work with Autistic individuals because I have a firm belief that they are misunderstood and stigmatized by society and they deserve better treatment, respect and understanding. My goal has been to provide an environment in which they can thrive and be accepted just as they are and discover their strengths and overcome weakness. Many of my clients with Autism have experienced trauma and abuse from family, teachers, colleagues, and people who were supposed to accept them. To assist my clients in beginning to overcome these things, I work to establish a strong relationship with my clients so they can feel safe and be able to start a successful life journey. I partner with my clients to establish this relationship by recognizing and honoring the individuality of each client and assist them in overcoming and striving to set and complete goals.
Strengths based and affirming approach would be a hallmark of my approach to clients. My goal as a psychologist has been to find the strengths of each client and assist them in finding ways to utilize their strengths. I am a firm believer in the power of positive affirmation and believe that you can change the way your brain thinks about yourself by changing your self-talk. I love assisting clients in finding ways to self-care and develop and maintain positive self-esteem. I believe once a client realizes how worthy they are they will begin to make the changes necessary to have their best lives. The first steps in developing your own sense of worthiness come in loving and healing yourself. I am deeply honored to assist clients in this discovery process of freeing themselves of their past and moving to their future.
