Intro

Hey there! My name is Adam (he/him), and I am a Clinical Psychologist, educator, and licensed middle and high school teacher based in Chicago, Illinois. I bring a unique blend of experiences from the classroom to the clinic and specialize in supporting neurodiverse and LGBTQ+ individuals through psychological assessment, therapy, and education. In addition to my teaching background, I am a Clinical Supervisor, guiding and mentoring emerging mental health professionals. My approach is rooted in trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming practices, incorporating evidence-based methods to empower individuals and communities.

What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My "why" stems from a genuine desire to create spaces where individuals feel seen, valued, and empowered. As someone who has worked with neurodiverse individuals in both classroom and clinical settings, I have witnessed the unique strengths, perspectives, and resilience of this community. My motivation for working with neurodiverse individuals in particular stems from a deep respect for neurodiversity and a passion for fostering environments where every individual feels valued and empowered.I strive to provide support that honors each person’s unique experiences, helping clients navigate challenges, build on their strengths, and develop skills that enhance their daily lives and relationships. Whether in education or a clinical setting, my goal is to create opportunities for growth, resilience, and self-advocacy. Together, we can work toward a life where you feel understood, supported, and able to thrive.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I prioritize an affirming and strengths-based approach to ensure that every individual feels seen, valued, and empowered. Rather than focusing solely on challenges, I believe in uncovering and building upon each person’s unique strengths and abilities as a foundation for growth and success. By actively listening to their experiences and validating their feelings, I create a safe and supportive space where clients can express themselves authentically. My goal is to help individuals harness their strengths to navigate obstacles, achieve their goals, and develop a deeper sense of confidence and self-advocacy. Through compassion and affirmation, I am committed to supporting clients as they realize their full potential and thrive in their lives.
