Intro
Hello! My name is Ashley and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (Florida, Texas) who enjoys working with people to better manage their mental health, including depression and anxiety. I enjoy working with neurodivergent population in order to see the progress and results by implementing CBT and DBT approaches.
I chose to specialize in working with autistic and neurodivergent clients because of my personal experiences with family members on the spectrum. Growing up around neurodivergence gave me a deep understanding and appreciation for their unique perspectives, strengths, and challenges. I’ve seen how therapies like speech therapy, occupational therapy, and tailored interventions can make a real difference in their lives, and I wanted to be part of that positive change. My goal is to support, empower, and advocate for neurodivergent individuals, helping to create a more inclusive and understanding world.
I bring an affirming and strengths-based approach to my work by focusing on each person’s unique abilities, interests, and strengths rather than viewing autism through a deficit lens. I take the time to understand what makes each individual shine—whether it's a special interest, a talent, or a unique way of thinking—and build on that. I encourage self-advocacy and celebrate neurodiversity, ensuring that clients feel heard, respected, and valued for who they are.
