Bibiana Gutierrez

Howdy from the desert mountains of far west Texas, in the heart of the Chihuhuan Desert, a most magical place. My name is Dr. Bibiana "Bibi" Gutierrez and I've been working as a Texas Licensed Clinical Psychologist for nearly 30 years, as well hold a PSYPACT license to practice Telehealth in 42+ states. I was trained as a generalist and have developed expertise in providing trauma-informed care to underserved folx across the life span, in virtually all settings, using a transtheoretical model which meets the individual where they are utilizing whatever methods are the most effective for the change and growth they seek.

Having grown up as a military brat, living in many different places, I developed a passion for exploring other cultures, places, peoples, and foods. This also taught me how to flexibly adapt, welcome novel experiences, and understand that what is considered "normal" is to a great degreee socially constructed. Therefore the core value which guides my work as a clincian and diagnostician is to empower you to discover your true self, affirming your intersectional identifies, and living a life that is meaningful for you.

My lived experience of being "othered" as a Queer, Latinx, cisgender woman, and mother of two beautful neurodivergent young adults has sensitized me to the power of being truly seen, affirmed, and supported in our natural capacity as humans to reach our full potential, to live healthy, meaningful lives, and that we all have a place in our global community. So through therapeutic experiences and/or a diagnostic process your innate strengths and unique gifts can be discovered, made explicit, to be shared with you, and your loved ones so that you can live your best life!
