Intro
Hi, I’m Dr. Cristy Russo, a licensed clinical neuropsychologist in Florida, Kansas, and Massachusetts, with PsyPact credentials, allowing me to provide Telehealth services in over 40 states. I know that seeking support, whether through therapy or assessment, can feel overwhelming, and it's my goal to create a space where all will be met with warmth, respect, and understanding. My approach is holistic, collaborative, and strengths-based, with a deep focus on the mind-body connection. I integrate neuroscience, psychology, biofeedback, mindfulness, and other evidence-based approaches to help clients better understand themselves, heal, and move forward in a way that feels authentic to them.
Many neurodivergent individuals, especially autistic adults, spend years feeling misunderstood or trying to fit into a world that wasn’t designed for them. Through my work in assessment, therapy, and community involvement, I’ve seen how powerful it can be when individuals finally receive the validation and clarity they’ve been seeking. This clarity can come through a formal diagnosis or even learning new strategies that align with how they naturally move through the world. I’m passionate about providing affirming, identity-supportive care that helps autistic individuals recognize their strengths, navigate challenges, and embrace who they are without feeling the need to mask or conform.
I believe that neurodiversity is not a deficit—it’s a difference. My approach is to highlight and build upon strengths rather than focusing solely on challenges. I aim to create a space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. I help individuals process and heal from the impact of stigma, self-doubt, and past misunderstandings, while also equipping them with tools and strategies to navigate life in ways that align with their unique needs and goals.A large part of my work has also involved collaborating with schools to support neurodivergent students, teachers and staff in the classroom, particularly in helping children, teachers, and adult staff develop emotional regulation, social confidence, and a sense of belonging in their learning environments. One of the most profound experiences I’ve had is seeing how therapy dogs in classrooms can transform an individual’s ability to engage, regulate emotions, and connect socially. For many autistic individuals, these dogs provide a source of comfort, nonjudgmental companionship, and a bridge to interacting with others. It’s incredible to witness the difference that a calm, supportive presence can make. This environment helps all feel safe, understood, and empowered in ways that traditional approaches sometimes can’t reach. It’s my hope to create a similar environment in my work. An environment where clients feel grounded, accepted, and supported as they navigate their unique journeys. Whether through therapy or assessment, I strive to foster a space where individuals feel truly seen and valued, allowing for meaningful growth and healing.
