Intro
Welcome! My name is Dr. Adwoa Boateng, and I’m a licensed psychologist in Maryland (with PSYPACT credentials). I know that reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and I want you to know that you’re in a space where you will be heard, valued, and met with compassion. My approach to care is collaborative, culturally sensitive, and affirming of all races, genders, and sexual orientations. I believe that mental well-being isn’t one-size-fits-all—our unique backgrounds, identities, and life experiences shape how we move through the world. Because of this, I strive to create a space where you can show up fully as yourself, without judgment.
Too often, neurodivergent individuals are asked to fit into a world that wasn’t designed with them in mind—I want to help change that.I am inspired by the creativity, resilience, and perspectives of the neurodivergent community, and I strive to provide a space where clients feel accepted just as they are. My goal is to help navigate challenges, build on strengths, and develop strategies that make daily life more manageable and fulfilling. Most importantly, I want my clients to know they don’t have to change who they are to thrive—I’m here to support them in embracing their authentic selves.
I believe everyone has unique strengths, and my job is to help bring those to the forefront. Too often, the focus is on what’s “difficult” instead of what’s already working—I want to change that. I take a collaborative and affirming approach, creating a space where clients feel seen, valued, and supported as they navigate life in a way that makes sense for them.I listen, validate, and celebrate each person’s individuality. Instead of trying to “fix” anything, I help clients build on what’s already there—whether that’s creativity, problem-solving skills, or resilience. At the end of the day, my goal is to empower people to embrace who they are and find ways to thrive on their own terms.
