Intro

I’m Evelyn Brewton, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over a decade of experience in providing compassionate and supportive therapeutic services. My passion lies in helping children, families, and individuals navigate the complexities of trauma, anxiety, depression, and various mental health challenges. I have a strong commitment to supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals and marginalized communities, as well as those with autism and developmental disabilities. I utilize a trauma-informed and client-centered approach, drawing upon a variety of therapeutic modalities like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy. My goal is to create a warm and nurturing space where you can feel safe and understood on your journey toward healing and growth.

What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My motivation for working with autistic adults comes from a deep respect for neurodiversity. I am passionate about supporting individuals and families as they heal and grow, and I believe in the transformative power of therapy to foster positive change. As a dedicated ally and mother of an autistic child, I am committed to creating spaces where every individual feels valued and empowered.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment where my clients feel safe and supported as they explore their feelings. I understand that discussing challenges from the past, and present, or worries about the future can be difficult, and I’m here to listen compassionately and help you navigate those experiences with care and understanding.
