Intro
It's hard for me to believe I've been practicing in this field over two decades now - time flies when you're having fun! I'm a Licensed Psychologist in Maine, where I live with my family, bearded dragon, and Ramen Poodle; and have PSYPACT authorization to practice psychology via Telehealth in most states and territories. Over the years, I've been enjoyed working in a range of settings conducting psychological evaluations, as a therapist, Clinical Director, researcher, and teaching and training mental health professionals. I would love to collaborate with you on a psychological evaluation to get a better understanding of your strengths, challenges, and develop helpful recommendations.
As a friend and family member to neurodivergent individuals, I'm motivated to provide evaluations where people feel heard, understood, and empowered. It's such interesting work combing evidence based assessment with getting to know each person as an individual. Getting to spend time with neurodivergent individuals broadens my perspective and gives me the joy of supporting people in meeting the goals that are meaningful to them.
My beliefs, experiences, and research tell me that focusing on empowerment, building on strengths, and supporting individual goals is highly effective. It's so much more motivating for everyone involved to keep the focus on what you want to accomplish and what you need to get there, rather than taking a problem perspective. At the same time, it's important to me that the people I'm working with feel their challenges are validated and acknowledged so we can work on how to address these concerns.
