Intro
My name is Dr. Eklund and I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist (Wyoming, Florida). I completed my Master's and PhD at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and my internship and residency at Madigan Army Medical Center. My training, education, and experience as an Army Psychologist has provided a unique opportunity to work with and assess all intersectionalities of diversity.
My previous experiences of assessing neurodivergent and autistic adults have fueled a passion to continue to work with individuals who are underserved and marginalized. Additionally, I have a child who is neurodivergent and I want to continue to hold space for him, and others, to be his authentic self.
My experience in the Army as well as being a parent of three, one whom is neurodivergent, informs my practice. Many individuals with whom I work operate in an environment that is incompatible with their strengths and in these cases, the environment needs to adapt. Viewing individuals through a strength-based lens provides the space and opportunity to see growth and gives permission for individuals to be their authentic selves and thrive.
