About

Hi there! My name is Dr. Lauren Dreisch and I am a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Florida. I was born and raised in Miami, FL and completed my undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Florida in Gainesville. I returned to South Florida and completed my internship at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale and my fellowship at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami, where I currently live! During my undergraduate studies, I also received a minor in Disabilities in Society and I consider myself to be a disability advocate. I love what I do because through assessment I am able to help people better understand their unique set of strengths and difficulties.

Education & Licensure
PhD in Psychology from the University of Florida; Master of Education in School Psychology from the University of Florida; Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

During my education and training, I specialized in the assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders such as learning disabilities, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorder. I am passionate about working with neurodivergent individuals given this population is often overlooked and misunderstood. Assessment allows me to help people like you better understand what an autism diagnosis means and the different options (e.g., accommodations, interventions) that are available to help you better navigate the world in a way that is best for you.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

Unfortunately autism is a highly misunderstood and stigmatized disorder. Thankfully, growing research has begun to shed light on the spectrum of individuals that can fall under the autism umbrella. In my work, I focus on creating a validating and non-judgmental environment where you will feel safe and heard. My assessments are based on a neuroaffirming approach that considers autism to be a difference rather than a disability. I look forward to providing you with this type of care at Prosper Health!
