Intro
Hello! My name is Lorraine (she/her) – I am a queer, second-generation Filipino autistic therapist licensed in New York. I have a background in community mental health work and trauma-focused therapy. I strive to support in a manner that is trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, inclusive and respectful of the diverse collective.
I understand how draining it can be to deal with sensory, processing and social differences navigating daily life in a society built around “neurotypical” standards. I also understand how burnout can occur after periods of pushing past limits under-resourced and lacking sufficient support.I’m eager to offer my support to the neurodivergent community through developing therapeutic relationships informed by personal experience and clinical training, in solidarity and with respect for neurodiversity.
I approach treatment collaboratively, providing space for clients to discover and build on strengths, to emphasize personal agency and autonomy. I actively maintain an encouraging and affirming therapeutic environment by highlighting strengths and positives.
