Intro
My name is Nancy Arnovits, I am a licensed clinical worker in the state of Florida. I completed my undergraduate and graduate training in Pennsylvania. I have been working as a clinical social worker for the past 30 years, and a good portion of my experience has been working at a university teaching hospital in a variety of settings, For the past few years I have been in private practice helping clients dealing with depression, anxiety, work related stress, and life changes. Clients with autism can experience these problems more acutely and acquiring coping strategies can be more challenging.
I have worked with many autistic clients throughout my career. The field of social work emphasizes working with people who might feel marginalized, isolated, and misunderstoodWorking with neurodivergent clients is extremely rewarding because many have sought help in the past but their experiences have not always been successful and their concerns have been minimized or dismissed entirely. Prosper gives neurodivergent clients a venue so that their therapeutic experiences are validated.
I am impressed with the number of strengths and talents autistic clients possess, Focusing on many of these traits helps to provide a foundation to improve self confidence because they are different. Once we can accept these differenes as something quite unique can be an experience that can be uplifting.
