Intro
Hello. My name is Dr. Shirley and I am a clinical psychologist licensed in Florida. I completed my undergraduate degree at Western University in Ontario, Canada, my masters degree at Imperial College in London, UK, and my doctoral degree at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I completed my postdoctoral training at the Developmental Assessment Clinic at Nova Southeastern University where I specialized in the assessment of individuals suspected of autism and other developmental disorders. I look forward to meeting you!
I decided to specialize in working with autistic/neurodivergent clients after completing my postdoctoral training during which I had the privilege of helping many individuals and families gain a better understanding of the variety of unique challenges and strengths neurodivergent individuals can present with, how to navigate the world while advocating for themselves, and how to reach their full potential.
Being a parent of a neurodivergent child helps guide the work that I do and provides me with an understanding of the lived experience of neurodivergent individuals and their families. What I enjoy most about working with neurodivergent individuals is empowering them to feel comfortable and secure with their own way of thinking and gaining confidence to advocate for their needs and build of their strengths.
